Stuffed Cabbage


Ingredients:

1 large raw cabbage

2 cups of Egyptian rice (more based on preference)

1 lb. of grounded beef

1 teaspoon of 7 spices

1 teaspoon of grounded cinnamon

salt (as preferred)

lemon

2 garlic (the whole thing)

1 teaspoon dried mint

water

canola oil

Directions:

1. Un-leaf the cabbage, into large individual cabbage leaves. You can do it by undoing the hard bottom part, and removing each leaf.

2. Place the leaves in a boiling pot of water, and boil until they become tender. Then remove from water and allow to dry.

3. For the stuffed mixture, in a bowl: place the grounded meat, rice (washed and drained), and spices/salt. Mix!

Note: if the grounded meat has no fat and it's very lean, then add 2 tablespoons of canola oil.

4. Look at our grape leaves recipe to see how to stuff them, and prepare for cooking it's very similar!

5. For the sauce in this recipe, in a large pot place one whole garlic at the bottom of the pot. Place the stuffed cabbage. Then at water until it reaches where the cabbage reaches in the pot.

6. Add about two squeezed lemons or more according to taste. Add some salt, dried mint, and crush the other whole garlic! add to the water.

7. Press the cabbage in the pot with a plate and place a weight on it.

8. Boil until everything is cooked tenderly. Will take about 45 min.
